The Eileen Gray Bibendum Chair, designed in 1929, is a fabulous modernistic chair whose design originates from the character created by Michelin to sell tyres. Since it burst back onto the fashion scene in the early 1970’s it has been a fashion icon in the world of furniture. With its generous sizing and amazing comfort this chair will make you feel like you are being hugged every time you sit down.
Eileen Gray was born in Ireland in 1878, she died in Paris in 1976. Having studied at the Slade, she moved to Paris where, under the influence of Le Corbusier, her contemporary furniture design is now considered pioneering in both Art Deco and Modernism.
Our reproduction style chair is a high quality replica and remains true to the original design.
